The PSNG annual meetings started in 2012 as an annual workshop to provide a platform for the dissemination, sharing and training of phycologists in Nigeria and the West African region. Since the inaugural meeting in Benin, Nigeria, activities of PSNG have been on the rise, providing trainings for phycologists and algae lovers. The third PSNG meeting will hold in Benin from November 30 to December 4, 2015. Studies that deal with the taxonomy, ecology and biotechnology of algae and cyanobacteria are welcome.  The 2015 meeting is expected to bring together veteran phycologists, young phycologists and lovers of algae, in order to chart a way forward and provide solutions to emerging and evolving environmental challenges. The aquatic environment today is faced with multiple-stresses ranging from anthropogenic to changing climatic conditions. Algae and cyanobacteria are exposed to and affected by these multiple stresses simultaneously, and in turn, their responses to these changes in the aquatic environment have far reaching effects on animal and human health. At the conference, questions that will be addressed include: what is the role of phycology at this crucial make or mar stage of our planet? How do phycologists ensure that our planet survives the steady but consistent changing global climatic conditions, in combination with environmental pollution? We thank you for your previous participations in our workshops/meetings and we look forward to having a productive PSNG2015 meeting with you. See at Benin!!!
